Following the recent news that our grant funding for 2024/25 has been cut by 50% by the Scottish Government, the SCSN along with our partners RoSPA Scotland & Fife Council, has had to take the difficult decision to cease taking applications for the Mark McCall Home Safety Fund.
We have not taken this decision lightly but unfortunately, for the moment, these unforeseen circumstances mean we are unable to administer the fund going forward. We will be in contact with anyone who has already submitted an application.
We deeply regret the decision of the Scottish Government to de-prioritise Home Safety in Scotland given the substantial number of injuries & deaths that continue to occur from unintentional harm at home – particularly affecting young children & older people.
