The Scottish Community Safety Network (SCSN) is a registered charity. We are the strategic voice for community safety in Scotland. We create spaces for collaboration, co-production, dialogue, sharing and learning. We commission research, facilitate workshops, advocate for what works, and coordinate forums and events. We help local and national partners stay informed. We work with a diverse, broad spectrum of stakeholders, including Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, COSLA, Local Authorities, Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs), Scottish Government and many others.

We are seeking a motivated National Development Officer (NDO) to join our small, agile team, to help push forward improvements to community safety in Scotland. You will become an integral part of the organisation and our National Development Team. You will work closely with the Senior National Development Officer (SNDO) and the other NDO. Your work will be varied, often complex, sometimes challenging but rewarding and satisfying, knowing that real-world change – legislative and practical – can happen as a result of the evidence, advocacy and persuasion we help provide.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates passionate about community safety, keen to help build resilient communities, and alive to issues affecting citizens and neighbourhoods in Scotland. You will be welcomed as an essential colleague and co-worker, into a team who are looking forward to working with you. SCSN is a progressive, person-centred, compassionate organisation, among the first to trial and permanently adopt 4-day working, with no loss of pay or conditions. SCSN offers staff generous annual leave and wellbeing days too, to help support mental health.

We encourage you to visit our website, to see what we do and who we are. Read the job description and person specification, and please view the short video we have made for you. If you think you are the right fit for us, we would love to hear from you.
