9.30am – 10.30am, Wednesday 15th June
We’re running a workshop on anti-social behaviour. We’d love to hear your experiences and ideas.
The Scottish Community Safety Network (SCSN) is a registered Scottish charity and a member of the SCVO. We are the strategic voice for community safety in Scotland, providing networking, forums and leadership. We advocate for collaborative working and partnerships, encourage co-production, innovation and sharing best practice. We champion community safety.
Addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB) is a key aim of many community groups, agencies and statutory bodies across Scotland. It’s a perennial problem that affects rural and urban neighbourhoods and communities. Increasingly, time and resources are directed to dealing with ASB.
In collaboration with colleagues at Scottish Government (SG), SCSN is exploring whether there might be another way to approach to ASB; one that focuses on reducing punitive enforcement, and increases early intervention, re-direction, positive opportunities, and highlights community support to help reduce ASB.
SCSN and SG are facilitating a series of workshops across Scotland in 2022, to consult with citizens of communities and interest groups – including the third sector – to better appreciate their experiences of ASB, and begin conversations about what a person-centred, holistic alternative approach at ASB might look like. We’re delighted to attend the Gathering, to listen to your perspectives.
We invite you to take part in this exciting – perhaps transformative – dialogue on justice, your experiences of it, and what we could possibly do to improve it.
